Desiree is a Career Guidance Counsellor, registered as a Psychometrist (Independent Practice) with the HPCSA. She operates in an advisory capacity to provide career options / guidance that will enable others to make informed decisions.
Services include Subject Choice/Aptitude Assessment, Career Guidance/Vocational Assessments for Grade 11 & 12 learners, Career Guidance for post matriculates or Tertiary students, Mid-Career changes, Recruitment and Selection, Success Planning and Talent Management and lastly Benchmarking Assessments. Her key clients are private individuals, schools, Corporate clients, corporate investment programmes (CSI), and wellness campaigns within corporate companies.
Qualifications:
She started her tertiary education at RAU where she completed her B.Sc Physical Sciences Degree in 2003, followed by her honours in Psychology in 2004. Following an internship, Desiree qualified as a Psychometrist in 2005 with the HPCSA. In addition, she completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2014 at the University of South Africa (UNISA). She started her career within the corporate Industry and gradually moved into the Educational field where she finally started her own practice in 2013.
Her approach:
Having 9 years of working experience within the corporate and educational field, she has attained a vast amount of expertise, giving her the opportunity to apply it within her work, helping others to make informed decisions. By guiding others, it is more than just answering a questionnaire. It is by following a holistic approach, helping others to learn about themselves, looking at their life stories, considering their needs and helping them to plan their way forward. She is currently consulting for organisations and schools, offering a variety of services such as workshops, career guidance, subject choice assessments, study methods, psychometric assessments for recruitment and personal development purposes.
